SolaX Box - What You Need to Know About This Solar Power Storage System

The SolaX-Box is the latest solar battery storage solution available on the New Zealand market.  It kind of looks like a beer fridge, the unit will usually sit amongst your sports equipment in your garage like a beer fridge would and provides you instant relief from the shackles of the large corporates.  But instead it is stacked full of some cool lithium-ion batteries and smart battery management.

It is for anyone who has a solar power system on their roof, for those who are thinking about getting solar power or those on flexible power charge rates who would like to use battery storage instead of the high rate times from the grid.

The two main advantages of getting this battery storage system over others on the market is that it has a low initial price, so you can start storing your own solar power sooner.  The price is roughly between $9K and $10K installed.  The price is lower because you can start out with a smaller battery bank (4.8kWh) and build up to 14.4kWh capacity.

The picture below shows the three lots of 2.4kWh batteries in the unit, there is room for up to 6 batteries.

This system can run when there are power outages, which a lot of other lithium-ion battery storage solutions on the market can't.

The SolaX Box is expected to last a lifespan of 4000 cycles at 80% depth of discharge.
